José Luis Medranoowner of Preserves Medranohas dedicated on Tuesday the second prize of the Pyme Navarra 2025 award that the family business has received “his wife and his children”, in short, “to the family, who endures everything,” he emphasized for a line of course to highlight that “starting a zero company without being a great engineer and without a hard one is no joke.” He remembered the story of Preserves Medrano Since, in 1986, by the hand of his wife, Pilar Muñoz, founded in Tudela Food Export, a company that exported preserves of the Ribera de Navarra. The project was growing and ten years later Food Export entered the field of import, hence he changed his name to Impex Medrano. It was in the early 2000s, when his children Javier and Álvaro, today commercial and production director and quality, joined the project and helped boost new challenges. He was born to win, the brand that served to start selling own canned; New facilities were inaugurated in Tudela, with 4,000 square meters; and, in 2011, the Crimonservas were acquired in Lekunberri, specialized in sailor dishes in the Basque Country.

The family then extended the delegation of the riverbank to the current 7,500 square meters to enrich its elaborated dishes menu and start the production of artichokes with the IGP Tudelaasparagus with the Navarra IGP, peppers with the Piquillo de Lodosa and Ecological Preserves. Therefore, in 2018, the company was renamed preserves Medrano, which a year later would become the largest artichoke producer with the TUDELA IGP.
