
United Kingdom supports the autonomy plan of Morocco for Sahara

The United Kingdom confirmed that “UK Export Finance can consider supporting projects in the Sahara” and “mobilize CIncar one billion pounds sterling to support new economic projects throughout the country. “He recognizes Morocco as an essential entrance door for the socioeconomic development of Africa and reaffirms his commitment to deepen his collaboration with Morocco as a partner for growth throughout the continent,” adds the joint statement.
It also emphasizes that “both countries support and consider vital the central role of the United Nations process”, while reaffirming “their full support for the efforts of the personal envoy of the UN Secretary General, Staffan de Mistura.” In particular, the United Kingdom declares to be “ready, willing and determined to provide your active support and commitment to the personal envoy and the parties.”
Finally, it emphasizes that, “as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the United Kingdom shares Morocco’s opinion about the urgent need to find a solution to this prolonged contentious, which would result in the interest of the parties.” “It is time to find a solution and advance in this issue, what would work stability in North Africa and revitalize the bilateral impulse and regional integration.”
