The ETNA, considered the most active volcano in Europe, and located on the Italian island of Sicily, has erupted this Monday, causing strong explosionssmoke columns and a casting of pyroclastic material that has been seen on its southeast slope.
As explained by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) the eruption has occurred after a part of the southeast crater collapsed, but the material would not have exceeded the Lion Valley. The Observatory continues to control the situation, and the presence of pyroclastic flows has been confirmed, cast with lava and gases that moves at ground level.
On the other hand, the authorities ensure that at the moment the explosion does not present a danger to the population, having not exceeded the valley located at 2,800 meters high.
