Wanis al-Mabrouk, deputy general secretary of the International Union of Muslim scholars (Iums), which promotes an extremist and radical Islam, recently visited Dublin, Ireland, as part of the organization’s efforts to strengthen its links with Islamic centers and communities in Europe, MEMRI reports.
During his visit, he met with outstanding figures from the Irish Muslim community and with mosque magnets throughout the country, and talked about cooperation between them and the Uims, which included the possibility of joining the Union.
With approximately 100,000 members in 92 countries, the IUMS acts as an organ of the Qatari regime to disseminate an extremist and antioccidental Islamist ideology. Systematically promotes a rhetoric of hate and incitement to jihad, terrorism and anti -Semitism, in line with the support that Qatar has provided for decades to various terrorist groups worldwide, adds the digital.
The IUMS has special links with Ireland because it was founded there in 2004 by Sheikh Yous Al-Qaradawi. The Union was based in Dublin until 2010, when it became sponsored by Qatar and moved its headquarters to Doha. Sheikh Al-Qaradawi, who was born in Egypt and settled in Qatar in the 1960s, was a leading authority for the Muslim Brotherhood Movement, and was known for its extremist positions in praise of jihad and terrorism and even suicidal attacks, and for its extreme anti-west opinions and its aspiration to the Islamic control of Europe. Due to his opinions, he was appointed terrorist by several Arab countries and was prohibited from entering several Western countries, including the United States. His successors in the IUMS, Ahmad Al-Raissouni and the current President Ali Al-Qaradaghi, have expressed similar opinions and praised the jihad and terrorism.
According to the official website of the Uims, Al-Mabrouk’s visit to Dublin is part of the union efforts to strengthen ties with the Islamic communities and centers in Europe. During his visit, he delivered a sermon on Friday, organized a three -day seminar and met with leaders from the Muslim community and with magnets of mosques from all over the country. He addressed the vision and objectives of the organization, future cooperation routes and the possibility of integrating new members.
