raids, riots and last minute in the United States

The city of Los Angeles is going through a wave of disturbances after several days of protests triggered by raids of the Immigration Service (ICE) in areas with high Latin population. The demonstrations, which began on Friday, have resulted in clashes with the police, street cuts, fires and looting. The security forces have responded with tear gas, stunning grenades and rubber projectiles. The city center has been declared an illegal meeting area and dozens of people have already been arrested.

In a controversial turn, President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of the National Guard in Los Angeles without the consent of the Statewhich has been harshly criticized by Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass. Both accuse the Federal Administration of aggravating the situation and warns of legal consequences. This is the first forced deployment since 1992which has further raised tensions between the federal government and state leadership.
