The address of Arcelor Mittal He has announced Monday in the mediation held with the social representation in the Labor Court of Navarra that withdraws the Employment Regulation (ERE) file that affected the Navarro de Legasa Center and the Alavés of Salvatierra, which has led to the Distrust of the indefinite strike planned from July 1. In the case of Legasa, the ERE affected 33 workers and implied the dismantling of their processing line.

This has been communicated by the Federation of Industry, Construction and Agro (FICA) of UGT Navarra, a majority trade union organization in the center of Legasa.

This organization decided to convene indefinite strike from July 1 after the last meeting of the negotiating table in which Arcelor Mittal ended the negotiation of the ERE without agreement and announced that at the 33 extinctions of the center of Legasa the minimum legal compensation would be applied, without option to prejubilations or transfers.

In the mediation held on the occasion of the strike call, the group’s address, according to the aforementioned source, has announced that it withdraws the file.

This, in the opinion of the UGT, implies a tacit recognition of “what is indicated by unanimity of the negotiating table during the negotiation: the unilateral decision of the company only actually affected the working people in the center of Navarra, since the other center included (Salvatierra) benefited from an investment plan that entails increasing workforce.”

Therefore, after the announcement of the address, UGT-fic has decided to distrust the indefinite strike.

From the Federation of Industry, Construction and Agro of UGT Navarra they note that, in case of a new employment regulation file only for the center of the group in Legasa, it will continue to defend the interests of all working people, not ruling out any option during the negotiation with the objective of guaranteeing the maintenance of employment and industrial activity.
