In October 2024, when the DANA surprised more than 70 municipalities of the Valencian Communitymany neighboring cities turned to their aid. Pamplona was not the exception and, in Barañáin, who were responsible for packing the solidarity of the neighbors and transporting the aid to the affected peoples were Ion Rodríguez Vallez y Oscar Alcalá Liberal. This Wednesday 25 at 7:00 p.m., in recognition of their mobilizing work, they lit the rocket fuse to start five days of parties in their locality.

A few minutes before the burst of the rocket, there was nothing more than emotion and joy in the faces they expected within the municipal enclosure. Alcalá has been working at the City Council for 33 years and, when the whole country turned to support the Valencian population, he, from the Barañáin Urban Planning Brigadehe undertook a solidarity collection. “From the zero minute we began to evaluate proposals to see how we could contribute from here,” said Alcalá. In addition to the belongings, perishable food and cleaning products, from the area of ​​urban planning shovels, peaks, trucks, water boots, among other tools. Resources that, after five days of collection, would reach Ion Rodríguez, the second honored with the launch of the rocket. The 33 -year -old neighbor left, along with a dozen volunteers and with the support of the association Caravan of lifeto Valencia with three trailers and a ten -tons truck full of food.

It is not Rodríguez’s first solidarity initiative, so he considers this recognition as a fruit of the work he has been doing for years with canine associations, in support of blind, of refugees from Ukraine or people with rare diseases. “What motivates me is the happiness you transmit when you do good for other people,” Rodríguez said. This Wednesday, that happiness took the form of a rocket that made a place crowded with neighbors and that premiered parties without news or significant changes in the program.
